Archon This album is a heavy, atmospheric masterpiece that so far is one of my favorite releases this year. Favorite track: The Storm.

poltercica I consulted those knowing friends of mine to give me advice on this album, as I couldn't figure out what it reminds me of. They couldn't help me out. "Knowing" as in 'we grew up with most of the classics of the genre'. Finally, I came to the conclusion, that "Arcane Forest Rites" isn't just a citation, but the logical consequence of what once was called Black Metal in the 90's. A total epiphany... This is the purest spirit of old in various forms. - And it needs an immediate physical release!

H.L. TOP 2019 #3: Unfortunately, "Arcane Forest Rites" is only 32 minutes short. The album contains 6 catchy atmospheric black metal anthems, each a little masterpiece in itself. Sometimes the album reminds me at the glorious mid 90s in terms of atmosphere due to its groove and spheric, discreet keyboard sounds ("Wraith"), but I hear also more modern analogies, e.g. Winterfylleth ("Arcane Forest Rites") or Nehëmah ("Ashen Winter"). This album will soon become a timeless classic! Favorite track: The Storm.

Scorched Earth Records This whole album is fucking epic. Something I can play from start to finish every time without skipping a track. Favorite track: Wraith.

Ashen Winter 05:52

As Void Ritual continues on its journey experimenting with new sounds and styles, Mysticism offers an alternate timeline, where the atmospheric black metal of 'Death is Peace' continues. On 'Arcane Forest Rites', the bitter misery of 'Death is Peace' is replaced with full blown escapism, and the music reflects this as well.
